Emily Peters, a dynamic connector and perceptive thinker, is not only an advocate for patient rights but also the author of several influential books, including Artists Remaking Medicine. Her compelling narrative about the importance of blood donation can be found in her patient advocacy story. Currently, she is working on a new book titled Money Remaking Medicine. Recently,I had the opportunity to participate in a discussion with her on positive Deviants Detectives—a distinctive book club initiative under the Health Care Reinvention Collaborative lead by the insightful Dawn Ellison.Our conversation focused on how financial systems within healthcare have evolved over time, notably examining HMOs and other financial frameworks.
