Robert Browning’s Residence in Florence
The Casa Guidi, located in the heart of Florence, has it’s origins in the 15th century adn was transformed into elegant, spacious apartments during the early 1800s. In July 1847, Elizabeth and Robert Browning took up residence here on a three-month lease that extended until Elizabeth’s passing in 1861. The apartment has been meticulously restored to reflect the Brownings’ family life, drawing from a commissioned painting by Robert, personal letters, and an inventory of their son pen’s possessions. The decor features art collected by the couple throughout Europe, including the original drawing-room mirror and replicas of brocade curtains mentioned by Elizabeth.

A Historic Hotel from Interwar Kraków
The Puro hotel, part of a small Polish hotel chain, reopened its doors in Kraków’s historic district after renovations completed in2021 by a local design firm aimed at evoking the charm of pre-war Kraków with its vibrant cafes and eateries that flourished between World War I and II.The design draws inspiration from iconic mid-century hotels like Cracoviaand Forum as well as Kino Kijów cinema which is still operational today.The interiors feature light oak paneling,natural stone finishes,and locally sourced artwork.Rooms are equipped with retro radios along with Bauhaus-style furnishings.Trams clattering past alongside lively conversations from nearby cafes enhance this nostalgic atmosphere.
